Gary Numan - Gary Numan To Play Mighty Boosh Festival
Gary Numan and the Charlatans have been booked to play the Mighty Boosh Festival this July.
The BBC comedy duo are to host their own music and comedy festival in Kent this summer and have announced the electro legend and the Mancunian indie kings as the first acts confirmed for the bill.
The Mighty Boosh Festival takes place at Hop Farm in Tonbridge on July 5th and as well as the Charlatans, White Denim and Polar Bear, Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt will take to the stage their characters Vince Noir and Howard Moon to perform some of their own musical numbers alongside shaman Naboo - played by Fielding's brother Michael - and friendly ape Bollo (choreographer Dave Brown).
However, Fielding told NME.com he was most excited about the booking of Numan who has been frequently referenced in the show, as well as making a brief appearance in series three.
"Having Gary on board is mental!" he said. "He is a hero of mine and was always a first choice, having him perform at our festival is almost surreal."
He added: "We've never played a music festival before and a comic has never headlined a festival before, so we are seizing the opportunity and doing both."
The festival is being hosted by Mean Fiddler impresarios Vince Power and Phil McIntyre, who explained last month that they had taken a risk in organising the 30,000-capacity event.
"We thought long and hard about putting on a comedy festival and convinced The Mighty Boosh that they were the right choice for the first major open-air comedy festival of its kind," a statement explained.
Other acts rumoured for the event include Har Mar Superstar, Peaches and Kasabian.

Fall Out Boy Keen To Start Next Album
Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy has mentioned the possibility of a new album on the horizon.
Speaking to Billboard, the singer revealed that he had discussed the idea with bandmates at the wedding of bassist Pete Wentz to singer Ashlee Simpson.
"It's one of those things music-wise where the band is really not talking about a record yet, but we're itching to do one,".
"Actually at the wedding we were like, 'We should do another record'. But I never want to mislead people," He added.
"There's been rumours of us doing our next record for a long time, but it kind of comes from a misunderstanding about how we work because we're always writing. We've had material since Infinity On High dropped."

David Cook wins 'American Idol'
Grown-up rocker David Cook has triumphed over smooth-voiced teen David Archuleta to become the new "American Idol."
While Archuleta was heaped with praise by the judges the night before, the voters decided otherwise -- and it wasn't even close. Host Ryan Seacrest said during Wednesday's show that 12 million votes was the difference.
Cook was overcome by emotion, bending toward the stage after his name was announced.
"This is amazing," he said. "This is all your fault," he added, addressing the brother who Cook had accompanied to the "Idol" audition that started it all.
Cook immediately took the microphone and began to sing "Time of my Life," which won the annual "Idol songwriting competition."
Corrie's Liam set for dramatic exit?
According to Digital Spy, the 31-year-old actor, who plays factory boss Liam Connor in the show, is leaving because of "typecast" fears.
A show source reportedly told the News of the World: "Nobody was expecting this and it's bad news because Liam has become hugely popular with fans."
"He won Sexiest Male at the British Soap Awards and they had big things planned for him."
"They wanted the Carla-Liam-Maria thing to really step up in pace, with him finally cheating on his girl with his sister-in-law. It would have given them a brilliant storyline which could have bubbled away until Christmas."
According to the report, a 'Coronation Street' spokesperson late confirmed the actor's planned departure, saying: "We've known for some time that Rob would be leaving at the end of his current contract."
"It's given the writers time to pen a really good exit storyline for his character, Liam."
"Rob will remain filming with us until around October and he will bow out on screen at the end of the year."
Gallagher to sell Ibiza home because of Blunt?
Gallagher had originally bought his home from 'Tubular Bells' star Mike Oldfield in 1999, but is reportedly sick of hearing Blunt talk about the island in interviews.
According to The Sun: "Noel has been going to Ibiza every summer for years. But he wants to find a new holiday destination.
"He's fed up of hearing James Blunt bang on about Ibiza like he owns the place. It's taken the charm out of it for him so he's put his villa up for sale.
"It's very close to Blunt's place, and he says he can't stand the thought of Blunt writing crap tunes up the road."
Blunt bought a villa in Ibiza two years ago and has been a big fan of the party island. His recent single '1973' is said to have been inspired by local nightclub Pacha.

Josh Groban - Groban Takes Dating Tips From Mayer
Singer JOSH GROBAN is attempting to adopt pal JOHN MAYER's carefree attitude to relationships - because he hopes it will lead him to beautiful women.
The 27-year-old has his own theories on why Mayer attracts a string of beauties - including Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly and his current girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.
And Groban is eager to emulate Mayer's success with the opposite sex by copying his friend's "swagger".
He tells People.com, "John's got a swagger that I've noticed. He's got a ?tude (attitude) that I have to try and learn how to get. It's that 'I may talk to you, I may not talk to you,' kind of thing."
But Mayer has played down his babe-magnet status and insists there are no set rules to landing a date with a sexy woman.
He says, "I don't have a secret. I don't think about it like that. I think about it as just being nice. All you have to do is just be polite and treat people really well."

Ashlee Simpson - Dating Ashlee Hasnt Changed Pete Wentz
Being involved in a high-profile relationship with singer Ashlee Simpson has not changed Pete Wentz, according to a touring partner of his.
Fall Out Boy bassist Wentz and Simpson were married in California at the weekend, putting paid to long-term media speculation that their nuptials were imminent.
But according to Gabe Saporta, the frontman of US alternative rock band Cobra Starship, Wentz's involvement in such a starry couple has not changed his personality.
Saporta, whose band have toured extensively with Wentz and Fall Out Boy, joked that "ever since [Wentz] started dating a celebrity, he's just been doing lines of coke with hookers".
Talking to inthenews.co.uk, he quickly explained that he was "kidding".
"He's totally the same dude," he continued. "She's a really nice girl and it's weird, I can't say that I was an Ashlee Simpson fan but I definitely know that kids in the emo scene have her record as a guilty pleasure."
"She was trying to be the more punk rock version of her sister so that's a good thing, I think."
Saporta, whose band shot to fame after their song Bring It (Snakes On A Plane) was included on the soundtrack for the Samuel L Jackson film, explained: "The only thing that changes is that he gets his picture taken a lot more than he used to.
"I don't think that she was more famous than him but it seems that once two people that are in the spotlight get together, they seem to become a power couple."
